Important PC changes will affect all learners as "thin client" comes to The Learning Curve

During the next few weeks, all the PCs in The Learning Curve will be upgraded to a thin client system.

This means that a lot of the traditional functions carried out by the PC base unit will now be run remotely from a server. Base units will be replaced by smaller terminals into which you can plug USB memory sticks.

Far more importantly for learners, this will have an immediate impact:
  • all documents or files not saved to the student I drive or to a USB memory stick will be lost
All our learners are urged to ensure that:
  • they log on properly to the network and deal with any password or related problems when they arise
  • all documents and files are saved securely to their I drive network space or to a USB memory stick
  • before they log off, they double-check that all documents and files are saved and backed up
If you need any assistance with saving documents, please contact our Library enquiry desk.
