Statistical Accounts of Scotland

The two Statistical Accounts of Scotland provide important source material for the whole of Scotland, covering a wide spectrum of subjects including agriculture, education, trades, religion and social customs.

The Statistical Accounts comprise county and parish descriptions compiled by Church of Scotland clergy. It was published between 1791 - 1799 and again in 1845.

develop the critical thinking required for their Internet research, is
